But when they played that song at the Death Disco
It started fast but it ends so slow
And all the time it just reminded me of you

"We shouldn't be doing this," Tom panted, looking into your piercing blue eyes as you parted for air. "It's...it's wrong...what about Danny and Dougie?"

"What Danny and Dougie don't know...won't hurt them. They're off getting smashed." You reply, panting for breath equally as hard as Tom, your hand pressed against his toned chest.

"But what if..." Tom began before being silenced by your lips upon his again.

"No buts, Tom...you want this...I want this...we can't stop it," you murmur between kisses. Tom gives in, allowing you to push him gently back against the pillows, hands fisting in your shirt.

It had all started in that bar at the beginning of the holiday. The one playing the cheesy music. But then, as the night wore on, the music got better. They'd played a song that Tom loved and you'd watched as he'd danced with Danny, reveling in the fact that no-one knew them here. No-one cared that they were in a relationship with each other, or that you and Dougie were a little closer than 'just best friends'. The song reminded you of Tom. How it started out fast and energetic, then slowed down as the energy disappeared. Tom was always like that on tour - full of energy and 'bounce' at the beginning, then slowing down towards the end. It had made you look at Tom in a different light as he danced and when Danny and Dougie wanted to go on to another bar, you took your opportunity. You could tell that Tom was flagging and offered to keep him company back at the hotel. Your boyfriends had paid no attention to this, it was fairly normal. Perhaps it was the fact you were in a different country, or perhaps it was the fact you'd both had a little too much to drink, you don't know. All that matters is one minute you'd been walking to your rooms, then the next you were kissing against the wall of the corridor.

After that night, you and Tom took every opportunity you could to be together. Whether it was when Danny and Dougie continued to party long into the night, or when they were busy playing football on the beach with some local kids and you and Tom were left to your own devices. It was hot, sordid and full of passion, but you both knew that as soon as the holiday was over, it would end. That was the beauty of a holiday romance and neither of you minded it.

Or so you thought.

"We go home tomorrow," you said quietly.

"I know," Tom replied, equally as quiet.

"We...I don't want this to end," you whispered, knowing that you shouldn't say those words.

"It has to. You know that," Tom said, sounding a little choked up. He knew what you were feeling. He knew it was wrong to continue this thing between you once you returned to England.

"I think I could love you, you know," you continue whispering, taking Tom's hand in your own, stroking it softly with your thumb as you lace your fingers together.

"I think I could love you too...but I'm with Danny, and you're with Dougie," Tom's words were gentle, understanding.

You spent what time you had together on that last night sitting quietly with each other, arms around shoulders and waists, just holding each other. Occasionally you shared a gentle kiss, but nothing more. You both knew that there was no need for anything more.

The sun was dawning as you made your way to the airport the next morning. You made to turn your head, to look at the sunrise as you held Dougie's hand in your own, but you were stopped by Tom.

"Don't look back into the sun," he sang softly, looking at you out of the corner of his eye. You turned your head back, obeying the lyrics.

"Pete Doherty's a knob," Danny said, shaking his head in disgust.

"Yeah, but you've got to admit Dan, the man's wrote some good songs," Tom said, smiling at you over Dougie's head. A secret smile that you returned. You both knew the true reason that Tom had chosen to sing those words. You both knew what the sun represented and though it hurt, you knew you had to leave it behind.

Don’t look back into the sun
Now you know that the time has come

Apologies to any Pete Doherty fans out there. I know Danny doesn't like him, so it was fitting for him to say that. I personally think he's a bit of an idiot, but he has wrote some fantastic songs with The Libertines and Babyshambles.
