Title: What Are Friends For?
Author: Me. Emma (
orpheous87)
Part: Ficlet
Rating: U
Pairing: Diaper Squad (not a pairing as such)
Genre: Fluff
Summary: Some unexpected guests show up on Connie's doorstep.
A/N: My god...I haven't written Mighty Ducks for, like, forever! This is dedicated to Stef (
starsgleam) for choosing Friends as her prompt. I'm really sorry that it kinda sucks, but I hope you like it anyway.
Disclaimer: Don't own 'em and this likely never happened.
"Come on!" Jesse shouted, running away from the busy main road, followed by his friends. This happened all too often - being chased by an angry guy that had
picked up the purse full of, well, crap. Maybe we should stop doing this, he thought as he dashed down an alleyway, ending up in a backyard.
"I think we lost him!" Peter called, looking behind him as he vaulted over the fence, landing in a heap on the other side.
"Good! He was fast!" panted Charlie, collapsing next to the shorter boy and trying to catch his breath.
"Aw man, he wasn't that fast! You two are just unfit!" Jesse snorted, going up to the back door and knocking.
A few seconds later, a tall, pretty girl with long brown hair answered the door, a shorter boy with blonde hair hovering behind her.
"Connie! Thank god you're home!" Charlie exclaimed, jumping to his feet and pushing past Jesse, into the house.
"Yeah, sure, come in guys," Connie said sarcastically as Jesse and Peter followed the brunette, flashing her toothy grins as they passed. Rolling her eyes, Connie
closed the door and headed back to the lounge where she and Guy had been watching a video. "So why are you here?" she asked, plopping down onto the
couch and tucking her legs underneath her.
"We got chased again," Charlie explained, looking sheepish.
"You guys! You waste more money pulling that stupid trick than you do buying anything worthwhile!" Connie exclaimed in exasperation. She knew she sounded
like her mother, but she didn't care. "And why do you always end up here when you get chased?" she asked as an afterthought.
"Because you always take care of us," Peter said quickly, giving Connie an adoring smile.
"Yeah, you're one of our best friends Cons, why wouldn't we come here?" Jesse added, grinning at Connie.
Sighing, she shook her head. "Yeah, yeah, what are friends for, huh?" she asked, smiling finally. "Who wants some soda?"
